Wedding Card for Mark & Brittany

I originally posted this card in May 2011:

This is the wedding card I made for some friends. It is a modified Double Pocket Fold with only a single pocket. Just LOVE the Four Frames stamp set & just had to use it on Mark & Brittany's card. I broke my elbow several years ago & had some extensive surgery. After that time, I couldn't do what I had done before with so much ease - like tie bows. Well, this was the first bow ( at least one that turned out this good ) I have been able to make! To me, it's THE best part of the card :-)

Just made the envie for the party tonight. Can't just do something plain, so I made it out of matching DSP & did a little embellishing! The sun was out today - very rare for here - so just had to get a picture with those beautiful shadows :-)

Erin's Wedding Favor Box and Place Card

This was originally posted on February 12, 2011:

After I made all the table decorations for a districtwide meeting in August 2010, I was asked to make wedding favors for a friend's daughter's wedding in April 2011. I was going to give her all of the extra paper that she said she was going to make place cards with the extras. Well ... since I wanted there to be uniformity on the tables, I decided to make her place cards too! Added a picture of all 84 of the box favors the day I finished them but wanted to add pics of the individual box & the place cards I made for Erin.

Here they are -

Thanks to Amy Czuba for her inspirational design for the place cards -

Here are some specifics:

Paper - Elegant Eggplant, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Stamps - Vintage Vogue, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Short & Sweet, Texture Jumbo Wheel
Ink - Elegant Eggplant, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery
Miscellaneous - Scallop oval punch & MS die, Big Shot, Simple Flower embosslit, Stamp-a-majig, Island Floral die, Scallop circle punches, Finial Press EF
Additional technique used - Sponging

--------------------------------------------

Here is a picture of the boxes we all ( Erin's parents, brother & sister-in-law ) made at my house -

Just finished 84 of these this morning - whew!!!!!!!

Here's what I used:

Paper: Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery
Punches: 2 3/4" Scallop Circle, Scallop Circle, Fancy Flower
Dies: Box #2, Island Floral
EF: Finial Press
Stamps: Vintage Vogue,
Short & Sweet, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Speckles Jumbo Wheel

They are going to be filled with trail mix. I gave Gayle ( mother of the bride ) a bunch of tiny bags so that the paper won't absorb the oils - don't want them ruined after all the work to make them  :-)

Valentine 2011

This was originally posted in February 2011:

Just finished a set of these cards today to give to some kids at the middle school where I work.

The kids really enjoyed them  :-)

Merry Christmas Christina!

The original was posted in December 2010:

Made this card for a good friend of mine that I am meeting this evening. Of course, I chose to use Candy Cane DSP again, but a pattern that I have never used yet! The bottom is layered with Garden Green CS edged with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, White Organza Ribbon & Real Red that was punched with the Ribbon Punch. The sentiment is from Season of Joy. The ornament punches (in Real Red & Kiwi Kiss) have small poinsettias from Season of Joy on Whisper White. I also used a couple of embossing folders on the card - one is Petals-a-Plenty & the other is a Sizzix EF I got at a Big Box store but you can get on sizzix.com.

Merry Christmas Christina!

Have a Merry Christmas :-)

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad

The original was posted in July 2010:

My mom & dad’s anniversary is next week ( it’s year 57!!! ) and when I saw Laura’s card, I knew I had to CASE it for their special day! I kept the basic format of the card pretty much the same, but added lots & lots of embossing - just LOVE embossing & if you know my cards, I always try to incorporate something that’s been texturized!

This card is a CASE from Laura Jaroscak’s gorgeous card:

Hope you like it, Laura :-)

Here are the specifics:

Stamps - A Word for You - this is one of the first times I used SU! clear stamps & I AM IN LOVE
Paper - Almost Amethyst CS, Whisper White CS, Pink Pirouette CS, Barely Banana CS, Tea Party DSP
Ink - Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Accessories - Finial Press EF, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Square Lattice EF, Flower Embosslit, Designer Buttons, Subtles, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Corner Rounder

Almost forgot - I also smooched the front on the card with a little of the gold smooth diluted with a little alcohol & put into a spray bottle. Don't know if you can see it, but if you click on the picture, it will make the card real big & maybe you can see the "sparkles"!

Thanks for looking  :-)

Friendship Card

The original was posted in July 2010:

I saw an old friend & pastor, Chuck Smith from Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, last night at a wonderful concert; was inspired to make him & his beautiful wife, Kay, this card! I decided not to put a sentiment on the front of the card but wrote a nice note on the inside. Am going to give it to him this evening when I go to another concert with my hubby, brother & sister-in-law.

My inspiration for this card came from many cards made with "Daisy" on the SCS site -

Here are specifics:
Stamps - Daisy ( double-stamping is sooo much fun )
Paper - Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, a tiny bit of DCWV Linen Closet ( of course! )
Ink - Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry
Accessories - Sizzix EF, Scissors ( had to do LOTS of cutting on this one! ), Stamp-a-majig, Gold Smooch diluted in alcohol ( not the drinking kind, though )

Hope you like it  :-)

Owl Corner Bookmarks

Original post in late 2010:

I was asked to make bookmarks for an upcoming Woman's Retreat for my church. I knew immediately that I wanted to make corner bookmarks because they are so different; I'm always up for unconventional. I made 31 with the help of several ladies this past weekend.  Had to borrow the new Owl Punch because I don't have it, but it's definitely on my wish list now; it's fantastic! Hope you like what I came up with :-)
